Roo Nicholson

An ever-curious jeweller and artist, Roo creates jewellery and artwork that serves to inspire the imagination and youthful whimsy in the viewer.

Harking back to her original artistic love of drawing, visual research is an important part of her creative process. After filling stacks of sketchbooks with a diverse array of drawing and written word, Roo enjoys experimenting with various jewellery techniques and is constantly looking for opportunities to further her learning.

Her current practice centres around handmade miniature life objects using hand-making techniques combined with charcoal-cast elements, inspired by nostalgia and the unexpected beauty of the mundane.
