Bishopsland is an internationally recognised and accredited charity dedicated to the training and education of young people in the craft of silversmithing in the United Kingdom.
Off the Wall Contemporary Art Fair 2024
An opportunity to see silversmithing and jewellery made by four Bishopsland alumni; Caitlin Murphy, Isabella Kelley, Yuyi Cheng, and Rebecca Oldfield. The popular contemporary art fair is being held at the Discover Bucks Museum from 16 November to 15 December 2024.
National Trust Conservate conference – 20 September 2024
We are delighted to be taking part in The National Trust’s Conservate conference on Friday 20 September, exploring the sustainability of heritage skills.
Bishopsland’s talk will focus specifically on excellence in vocational skills training.
Bishopsland pop-up at The Goldsmiths Centre – 20 June
To coincide with the Craft of Tea exhibition, we are holding a pop-up at the Goldsmiths Centre on 20 June from 4-8pm. Entry is free so please join us to view our current maker’s work and talk to them about their Bishopsland journey.
Bishopsland Retrospective Exhibition – July 2024
Join us at that the end-of-year Retrospective exhibition and celebration of the 2024 cohort’s achievements, from Thursday 11 until Saturday 13 July, at The Old Fire Station Gallery in Henley on Thames.

Bishopsland Wins at GCDC Awards 2024
We were so proud of all our Bishopsland winners at the @gcdcawards this week. Our cohort picked up no fewer than 7 awards between them and Bishopsland itself won second prize for the prestigious College Award 2024

It is with great sadness that the Trustees of Bishopsland Educational Trust share the news that Oliver Makower, co-founder of Bishopsland, passed away peacefully on 4 December 2023.

Angela Cork announced as new Principal of Bishopsland
We are delighted to announce that Angela Cork has been appointed as Principal, commencing September 2023. We are equally delighted that Bishopsland founder, Pope Makower, will be taking on a new role as Principal Emeritus.

For me, Bishopsland really kick-started my career as a jeweller silversmith and it’s where I met some of my best friends. At Bishopsland, I gained a much clearer understanding of what it would take to be a jeweller with my own business.
