Rod Kelly is one of the country’s leading silversmiths. He gained a 1st Class Hons degree at Birmingham School or Art and Design and then completed an MA at The Royal College of Art, London. He has 40 year’s experience as a designer maker and has a great knowledge of the trade and institutions that support our young designer makers.
His work can be seen in the collections of St Paul’s Cathedral, No10 Downing Street, V&A Museum, Ashmolean Museum, Fitzwilliam Museum, and many Livery Companies and Cathedrals. He has also designed coins and stamps for The Royal Mint and Royal Mail.
Rod is a Liveryman and ten years ago founded a charity The South House Silver Workshop Trust that trains and supports young graduate silversmiths. He was also for ten years deputy Chair of Governors of a Norfolk primary school. He lives and works in Shetland.
