Jessica Jue

Bishopsland Fellow 2016-2017

Jessica’s work focuses on hand-raised sculptural forms with movement, rhythm, and fluidity of form. Organic themes often inspire her pieces, which allow her to create curvy and playful shapes. She develops these forms using methods of cutting and folding, whilst exposing the interior and exterior of the pieces.

Jessica emphasises the simplicity and curvature of form, whilst also exploring the ideas of texture and surface material. These themes have enabled her to discover the inter-relation of forms to one another, allowing a narrative to pass through her work.
