Chamine Ghuss

Bishopsland Fellow 2023-2025

Chamine’s work explores themes of remembrance, personal statements, and reminiscence.

Narrative and compositional elements are central to her visual language, with each piece offering a story that unfolds through form, material, and arrangement. Her collections are contemplative triggers, inviting reflection and evoking deeply personal interpretations. These are sentimental perspectives: artistic expressions shaped by the psychology of nostalgia and the ephemeral nature of memory.

She investigates the tension between moments and our desire to preserve them—those forgotten fragments we attempt to hold onto.

“Memory applies both to the power of remembering and to what has been remembered. Our perspectives will forever be a choice.”

Her process is deeply research-driven, manifested through the construction and arrangement of forms that respond to emotional and visual inquiry.

Her collection of §entimental perspectives§ comprises art objects—a community of perplexed trinkets—each a vessel of memory, disorientation, and meaning, held delicately in transferable visual dialogues.
