Eleanor Louise Scott

Eleanor Lou Scott is a Silversmith.

Recognised for her work and passion for silversmithing, Scott has received the South Square Trust’s precious metal grant; Hamilton and Inches’ 10-week internship; Incorporation of Hammermen travel bursary and the Fife Contemporary New Makers Award.

Predominantly focusing on raising in Fine and Britannia silver, which has been saw-pierced to create intricate lace motifs before being raised. This process alters the vessel’s structure and reflects distorted doilies and lace lost to time. Scott creates tableware through observational drawings, prints, and collected lace doilies. Scott’s final graduate collection includes a series of embossings that capture the cutouts within the vessels, creating an artefact to go alongside the finished work that is lost when the forms are raised.
