Nurturing the future of silversmithing and
allied trades
Over the years, we have worked closely with the Goldsmiths’ Centre and Company, sharing best practice and ensuring our emerging makers benefit from the wealth of training, grants, exhibitions and opportunities The Goldsmiths’ offers. Our staff have taught at the Centre, and both they and several of our Trustees are proud Liverymen of the Goldsmiths’ Company.
The recent award of a project grant by The Goldsmiths’ Foundation marks a true watershed moment for Bishopsland. This grant will enable us to establish silversmithing taster sessions—an exciting new initiative in our mission to widen access to the craft.
The Goldsmiths’ Foundation is dedicated to advancing creative, technical, and vocational skills in goldsmithing, silversmithing, and jewellery. Through its inaugural grants programme, the Foundation is supporting organisations that work at the intersection of creativity and social change, with a strong focus on vocational training.
We are thrilled to have received this support and look forward to sharing further details about the taster sessions, which are scheduled for Easter 2026.
Together with The Goldsmiths’ Company and Foundation, we remain committed to nurturing the future of silversmithing and the allied trades.
