Freya Jeavons

Bishopsland Fellow 2020-2021

Freya is a 3D Design & Craft graduate from the University of Brighton, specialising in metalsmithing.

As a conceptual designer, she likes to create pieces that stimulate dialogues around pressing contemporary issues.

Freya’s work takes inspiration from the natural environment; from coastlines around the UK to mountainous regions of New Zealand. Freya finds the textures created by processes of erosion fascinating and is intrigued by how our landscapes have taken and continue to take shape.

Ethical sourcing of materials and practices is imperative in her work, using recycled metals wherever possible. Freya strives to make pieces that have a lasting effect on people – not on our planet.
