A silver vase inspired by lightwaves, reminiscent of leaf veins and flowing stems. The marquise form allows for a fan of flowers to be arranged inside. Laser hallmarked at The Edinburgh Assay Office.

Fellow 2015-2016
Karen graduated from The Glasgow School of Art in 2015 with a First Class Honours in Silversmithing and Jewellery Design, before completing the 11month postgraduate residential course at Bishopsland, specialising in silverware.
Employing a considered selection of materials, 3D printed and handmade components, Karen Westland creates refined silverware and jewellery using 100% recycled precious metals and other responsibly sourced materials. She is inspired by ‘tools’ built in order to explore outer space and how the invisible is revealed through these tools. The relationship we have with the universe, questions of time and our existence are also underlying subjects of her work.
