Morvarid Alavifard

Morvarid is an Iranian multidisciplinary artist whose work is related to the body and metal. Drawing inspiration from her identity, culture and background, Morvarid wants to create a better understanding of material culture and create interactive pieces of jewellery.

She is fascinated by the noble metals, especially their movements, and wants to push this movement further through traditional silversmithing.

Morvarid studied MA Jewellery and Metalwork at the RCA with the Behrens foundation bursary scholarship. She graduated with a first-class honours BA in Jewellery and Objects from Birmingham City University. Her background is in architecture and music.
