Both elements of the set were fully handmade from 925 silver sheet – the cup was raised and planished, whereas the plate was sunk and then chased on.

The chased patter on the plate is reminiscent of sea flora moving in the water. The piece was inspired by the oriental designs and is intended to transport the user to a picturesque little cafe by the sea coast where they can sip their favourite drink on a warm sunny day.

Bishopsland 2019-2021

Maksym graduated from the University of Brighton with a BA in 3D Design and Craft, where he followed the metal pathway and studied blacksmithing and silversmithing. He has honed his silversmithing skills during his time at Bishopsland.

Using historical artefacts as inspiration for his design, Maksym creates work which is not only aesthetically pleasing but also forms a narrative and a dialogue with its origins.
