Make a Silver Bangle and Charm
Course outline
Create your own beautiful sterling silver bangle with a charm in this immersive and enjoyable workshop. Using traditional silversmithing techniques, you’ll craft a unique bangle to take home and wear with pride
Our experienced tutor will guide you through every step of the process, showing you how to transform sterling silver into your finished bangle and charm. Along the way, you’ll learn essential jewellery-making skills, including sizing, forming, forging, sawing, filing, sanding, soldering and polishing, while using a range of specialist hand tools.
No previous experience is needed. All tools, materials (including sterling silver) and expert tuition are included, so you can simply enjoy the experience of creating jewellery from scratch.
Suitability
The course is suitable for beginners with no prior jewellery making experience, or for those with some knowledge who’d like to refresh and extend their skills. As our courses are limited to a maximum of 8 attendees, you will have expert tuition and we can adapt the teaching to suit your level of skill and desired outcome.
The course is open to anyone with an interest in jewellery making who is 18 years of age and above.
You can undertake this course as a stand-alone or book multiple short courses to build up a bank of jewellery and metalsmithing skills.
What to bring/wear
All tools and material are included. Please wear practical clothes and footwear (closed shoes, no open toes) and ensure arms/legs are covered. If you have long hair, please tie it back. If you wear glasses, please bring cleaning liquid/cloth. Please also bring an apron and a packed lunch.
Accessibility
There is parking on site. There are some uneven surfaces such as cobbles due to the historic nature of the Estate.
Seating is provided but the nature of the course may necessitate some standing. If you have tinnitus please let us know as we will provide ear defenders.
